Fireworks on the Isle of Wight

There are a range of Haloween and Guy Fawkes celebrations happening across the Isle of Wight in the next few weeks, and some unusual ways to see them!

With Halloween falling the Friday before Guy Fawkes’ night many places will be celebrating the two occasions with combined events.

Halloween Walks

Experience a spine tingling ghost walk around the stunning Ventnor Botanic Gardens on November 1st then warm yourself up in front of a roaring fire. Or there is the Sandown Halloween Carnival and Fireworks with a spooky lantern-lit parade of costumed participants weaving their way through the streets finishing at the parade for what promises to be a spectacular firework show.

Traditional Fireworks

For the more traditional there are two big November 5th events with a family-friendly firework display at Arreton Barns near Newport, including a torch light procession and giant fire. While closer to the Farringford, at Yarmouth in the West Wight, is the very popular torch light parade through the town and the bonfire and fireworks on the Common, overlooking the Solent.

Something completely different . . .

For a very different Guy Fawkes experience of the Yarmouth fireworks Isle of Wight Adventure Activities are organising a November 5th kayaking session. Participants will paddle out and watch the Yarmouth display from the Solent - definitely a unique vantage point.
