Alfred, Lord Tennyson was one of the most significant poets of the Victorian era and served as Poet Laureate for over forty years. His poetry explores many themes – heroism,  love, loss, faith, doubt, nature, and the passage of time. This A–Z is not a complete list of his poems but is a simple way to explore them, from well-known poems such as The Charge of the Light Brigade and In Mamorium to some of his lesser-known works. Together, they show Tennyson’s distinctive language, lyrical style, and deep interest in the experiences and concerns of the Victorian age.
