Finding Us

By Car

Farringford is located on Bedbury Lane, Freshwater, Isle of Wight. The post code is PO40 9PE. Its co-ordinates are 50°40'28.5"N 1°31'28.3"W.  Look out for a large sign at the end of the drive.  Parking is available and clearly signposted.

The house can be approached from the south by the Military Road, from Newport by The Middle Road, and from the north by the A3054.

By Bus

Several bus services stop near to the house.

The most frequent bus is the No.7 that runs between Alum Bay and Newport, via Yarmouth. Please click on the link for the Southern Vectis timetable:

The closest stop to the house is Freshwater Sainsbury’s on School Green Road. From here, walk south on Queen’s Road for 10-15 minutes until you reach Farringford’s entrance on Bedbury Lane. Please be advised that this route does not have a continuous pavement or pedestrian pathway.

The No.12 bus runs between Newport and Totland, and stops at Freshwater Bay as well as Freshwater Sainsbury’s.  Please click on the link for the Southern Vectis timetable:

The closest stop is outside St. Agnes’ Church on Gate Lane, but please note that Bedbury Lane does not have a pavement or pedestrian pathway.

Local volunteers also run a service called the FYT bus, which operates between Yarmouth, Freshwater and Totland.  Buses stop along the regular Southern Vectis route, but can also be hailed wherever you are and can often drop you very close to your chosen destination upon request. The Ferry:

Several ferry services operate to and from the Isle of Wight, servicing car and foot passengers. The routes are: Lymington/Yarmouth, Portsmouth/Fishbourne, Portsmouth/Ryde and Southampton/Cowes.  

The closest route to Farringford is Lymington/Yarmouth, on the west of the island. From here it is a 10 to 15-minute drive to Farringford.

It takes approximately 40 minutes to drive to Farringford from the Fishbourne ferry terminal, and 50 minutes from Ryde.
