Historic House Members are entitled to free entry to house tours but pre booking is essential via telephoning the office on 01983 752500.  Historic House Members can book online but proof of membership will be required at the ticket office.

We welcome groups by prior arrangement. Please call 01983 752500 or email contact@farringford.co.uk to enquire about group bookings.

Access to the gardens is included when you book a house tour.

Dogs are not permitted inside the house, except registered Assistance dogs.  If you are bringing an Assistance dog, please call Reception in advance on 01983 752500

Tickets  are available to purchase from the ticket office during the season, there is no need to pre book to visit the gardens.

RHS Members are entitled to free entry to the garden on Wednesdays & Thursdays.Proof of membership will be required at the ticket office. RHS Membership does not include free entry on a house tour.

Please note Garden Tours are not guided.

The Gardener's World 2-for-1 offer is valid on Wednesdays and Thursdays only.  Please show your card on arrival at the ticket office to receive your discount.

Garden Season Tickets will also be available to purchase from reception or the ticket office for £25.00 allowing unlimited entry during open hours throughout the season.  Reduced fee for renewals of £21.50

Lovely afternoon visiting the grounds, house was closed. Terrific project to bring it back to its original state, with a very interesting display showing how it was achieved. Gardens were amazing. Dog friendly in the gardens.

 Farringford Gardens

Having lived on the Isle of Wight for many years, we had never visited Farringford. We were extremely impressed with the gardens. Everything in the walled garden is very new and extremely well maintained. The woodland walk is about half a mile and easy. The house wasn't open, but we knew this before we visited. However, the restoration exhibition was just amazing. To see how the house has changed over the centuries up to present day was extremely interesting and the present owners have done a fantastic job as far as we could see. What was amazing was the removal of Fred Pontin's holiday cottages and the re-installation of the walled garden. One would never know that all the holiday cottages had been pulled down. This whole thing must've been an incredible project and the owners are to be congratulated.

The lady on the ticket desk was very welcoming and we were very impressed with the laminated garden map instead of a paper leaflet. What a good idea. We really enjoyed our afternoon.

This was my favourite historic site during our IoW visit. Despite a windy, rainy afternoon the walled garden was lovely. We booked a tour of the house. The audio guide was surprisingly good, informative with just the right amount of detail.

First visit to Farringford House today (recommended for a rainy day!). We are so impressed by the standard of renovation and decoration and the equally impressive and enthusiastic guides who make it very easy to visualise how this historic house looked in Alfred Lord Tennyson's day. What a transformation from the house's previous incarnation as a hotel!

Visited on Friday – best guides/stewards of anywhere I've been. The whole experience was excellent. I usually avoid headsets like the plague so it was wonderful to be offered a “headset” free machine. The only mild downside was the lack of refreshment facilities – but we survived. Thank you all at your beautiful property.

We loved our visit. The guides were really knowledgeable and passionate about their work. They were also great storytellers that brought the poets' story to life. Though I'm personally not a fan of audio guides (I read much faster), I was glad that most of the information was also to be found in leaflets in the rooms. The interior was absolutely stunning, especially all the replications of the wallpaper, curtains and rugs.
