Spring is always a busy time for us in the garden here at Farringford, our new border has been planted and we have started putting out sweet peas and runner beans which in time will cover the hazel frames.
Our Clematis are in full bloom and the garden is full of scent from white stocks. Some of the most popular things so far this spring have been the Lunaria annua ‘Alba’ (white honesty); a Rhododendron thought to have been planted by Tennyson himself; the huge Melianthus major and the auricula theatre.
In the next couple of months the old varieties of rose will start to flower, some of which will only flower for a short time but smell divine.
