The Isle of Wight CycleFest is an organised cycling event offering guided rides for all levels from various destinations on the Isle of Wight.

Saturday 25th August to Sunday 2nd September 2018

The Isle of Wight CycleFest is an organised cycling event offering guided rides for all levels from various destinations on the Isle of Wight.

Tennyson Trail

One of the more challenging rides is over The Tennyson Trail which is a very short distance from our Self Catering Cottages on the Farringford Estate.  A perfect base for a cycling adventure, siituated right next to some of the most glorious cycling terrain the Isle of Wight has to offer.  The Tennyson Trail is one of the most challenging rides up and over the chalk downs but you will be well rewarded by the most stunning coastal views and was voted as one of the best chalk trails in the UK. Very popular with walkers and horse riders this infamous trail will never disappoint offering different views depending on the weather.

Top Cycling Destination

The Lonely Planet guide has named the Isle of Wight as one of the top destinations in the world for cycling.  If the hills are putting you off there are different terrains, easier rides for the less ambitious.  The disused railway lines are mostly flat and smooth with main villages offering refreshment stops.

The Isle of Wight offers relatively quiet roads meandering through picture post card villages with lots of pubs and tearooms open all year round.

Round the Island

There is an official 62 mile cycle route Round The Island which is clearly marked with Blue & White signs as you disembark from the various ferries.

The week-long Cycling Festival, which has over 100 guided cycle rides for all abilities, is hosted on the Island every year in September. For further information on this year’s Cycle Fest visit www.iwcyclefest.com.
